Continuity 365

Published on 30/09/2022

For a while, end users of software have been asking their Escrow providers and their software providers, that in an Escrow release, if the ability exists for the Escrow provider to instantly spin up and run the service for them. Well now it does, through SES!

Standard Escrow Agreements go some way to mitigating risk by providing access to source code, all data and associated materials. However, it is important to understand that the software user, not the Escrow provider, is responsible for recreating the service in the event of release under the Escrow terms. This can be challenging with software users having to secure resources and expertise without knowing when they will be needed.

Major enhancement to Software and Data Escrow

Continuity 365 is an industry first and a major enhancement to Software and Data Escrow that is only available through SES. Continuity 365 is a full continuity and disaster recovery solution within the legal framework of an Escrow agreement! The SES Continuity 365 solution is designed to provide complete and rapid accessibility to business critical software applications, in the event that the hosted environment or supplier are no longer available to provide the service, temporarily or permanently.

Key Highlights

  • SES will be responsible for rapidly recreating the working service on your behalf.
  • Continuity 365 provides a real-time Interim Release that bridges the gap between initiating the release process and its completion (typically 14-30 days industry standard).
  • SES can switch on the Interim Release and provide the software user with continued access to their services, in some cases within minutes. This protects the software user and ensures the business can continue to operate without disruption until the release process finalises.
  • Following a confirmed release, Continuity 365 will provide a period of service continuity, typically 6 months. Providing invaluable time to make alternative arrangements – whether that’s bringing the service in-house or transitioning to a replacement.
